When we look at the Bible closer, when we dive deeper into the meaning of the stories presented in the Bible, we see it’s all about the love. It’s all about the love of God towards the people and God trying to teach us how to love.
What is love?
It’s the most pure and highest emotion you can have towards someone. There are also different types of loves, different towards children, different towards parents and different towards spouses. The stories found in the Old Testament are showing us how God loves His chosen nation – Israel. That love is compared to the love of the husband and wife to give us better understanding of how deep this goes. God is also showing us that the love requires sacrifice, service and forgiveness. That this love will experience negative emotions like jealousy, that this love will experience good and bad times but without those bad experiences we wouldn’t be able to appreciate the goodness of it. Without the contrast we can’t measure it. We need winter to appreciate summer, we need rain to appreciate the sun and in the same way we need different emotions to appreciate the purity of love.
Here on earth, our job is to experience those emotions and learn how to process them, how to regulate them and how not to let them overcome us. I think it’s beautiful that we can experience different palette of those emotions. Imagine if everything was good, how would you know it’s good? How would you appreciate that it’s good?
This takes me to the first story of Adam and Eve. I am the person who likes to see different perspective of every situation and looking for goodness in every bad situation. As a standard story, Adam and Eve are viewed as villains, as people who put us in this difficult situation of the sin by eating the fruit from the tree of the good and evil. Eve was deceived by the serpent and tempted by the fruit that was “pleasant to the eyes” and by the desire “to make one wise”. She took a bite and gave it to Adam who ate it with her. Their eyes were opened, they realized they were naked and they hid from God. What happened after is very important, because it’s more important what we do after we sin and when we realize we’ve made a mistake that the mistake itself. God confronted them but Adam blamed Eve and Eve blamed the serpent. No one could take accountability of their actions. Yes they all rebelled, however they didn’t humbly accept the defeat but they were looking for a way out of the consequences. This story puts them into the category of villains, it’s because of them we are here and not in the garden of Eden. This is the standard story as we know it. However….
Have you thought that God put that tree knowing that they would eat it because God actually wanted them to eat from it? Have you thought that this was God’s plan to help elevate the consciousness of His creation through first putting that creation through difficulty and struggle? Without that decision, there would be no free will because from the start people would act according to God’s will and there would be no experiencing the contrast. Only through experiencing the contrast we can understand and appreciate the goodness. Only through difficult lessons we can shape our inner character and resilience, which allows us to expand our understanding. This cannot be given but it has to be experienced and lived through. Perhaps the earth had to go through the number of lessons, number of difficult situations so that our collective consciousness could rise to really understand what is good and what is evil.
I am sure that as a child you’ve touched the hot kettle or boiling water just to check if it’s really hot and to your surprise, yep it was just as hot as your mum was telling you. Our curiosity and our need for exploration and experience led us to touch “the hot water”, or whatever the object of your curiosity would be to you. And equally this led to various physical, social and technological advances. God has put in us all those emotions and natural senses for a reason. Without curiosity there would be no evolution, without the need of experience there would be no progress in our lives. It’s all for a reason. Therefore in this case, I view Adam and Eve as volunteers of this task rather than villains. They volunteered to start the process of expansion of our consciousness through those difficult experiences. Perhaps they knew the consequences but they also knew if they didn’t do it, there would be no progress. And how could we appreciate God’s Kingdom without those experiences? It’s only when you are thirsty you appreciate the water, it’s only when you are hungry you appreciate the taste of bread.
The Bible shows us through the stories of Adam and Eve, through Abel and Cain, through Hosea and Gomer, through Ruth and Obed… Through Jesus and his bride what it takes to really love, sacrifice and manage those difficult for us emotions like jealousy, hate, forgiveness, service, redemption. Love is not this superficial love that we are bombarded with through modern life and reality tv. Love is not about looking pretty, having material things and going on holidays. Love is about the vows, about always sticking to your word regardless of the circumstances, love is about the sacrifice and service to others, not pleasing yourself only. Love is not about the physical pleasure too but about the emotional bond you create with someone you can really trust.
Seasons go, things change, material things disappear, beauty fades…it all goes. But what stays are emotions, memories and wisdom that you have acquired through those experiences. This is more precious than a nice dress or a nice car. That wisdom will never leave you, it will always stay with you and help you further in life. As life goes and experiences expand, your wisdom grows. It’s something no one can steal from you. It’s something no one can copy from you. It stays with you and if you grow, your wisdom grows with you. Don’t be afraid to experience anything bad in your life because that is the best teacher in your life. Anyone who experienced something bad and found a way out will tell you that this was actually the best thing that happened in their life because it pushed them to the change, it pushed them to better themselves. Nothing grows in the comfort zone and complacency can be our enemy. The unfortunate thing is that our bodies are designed to look for comfort and to avoid danger or difficulty. Our brain will do everything to save energy and will only encourage us to the things that are easy and comfortable. It’s just how we have been designed. But this is where our free will comes in – do you want to grow or stay where you are? If you want to change, you need to take steps towards that change and become uncomfortable for some time.
Everything flows from love, even the discomfort flows from love, because you love yourself enough to want to better yourself or your family. Love is the ultimate emotion, our anchor point, and we all want love and to give love. There is no creature in the world that doesn’t want to receive love but we express it differently. Bad behavior is usually a cry for help and attention due to the lack of love. Words, physical touch, act of service are all expressions of love. We change when we love and when we are being loved. Our barriers go down and we can see the soft side of that person.
That is why when Jesus was on earth, he summarized the Law of God into two commandments: love your God with all your soul and all your heart and love your neighbor like yourself. God is a spirit so you can’t express your love towards God using any physical aspects, but you can express it by having respect towards His words and His will. And what is His will? – it’s the Law of God which God gave us out of love towards us and He wanted for us to love one another. How you love your neighbor like yourself? By putting yourself in their shoes and always thinking how you would like that behavior or treatment. If it’s not something you would want to experience, why would you want to give it to someone? Would you like if someone stole your things? Would you like if someone took your wife? Would you like if someone killed your child? Of course not, so why do you think it’s okay to do it to anyone else. God asked us to love Him only, so why do you think it’s okay to pray to other gods? God asked us to worship Him on a Sabbath when he rested, which is a sign on His authority, so why do you think it’s okay to do it any other day because it’s more convenient to you? It all comes down to the Law and the Law is Love. The Law is not burdensome, otherwise God wouldn’t give us the Law. We all can do it, we all can respect each other, help each other, and love God through respecting His holly day and only praying to Him. Following the Law will only bring you closer to God and will help you to feel the love God has for you.
With that in mind, do you see that the story of Adam & Eve can be viewed in a positive light? And this is how the story will end – with Adam and Eve.
When Jesus was on earth, he gave us various hints suggesting that he could be actual Adam. Of course in Christianity no one would believe that Jesus could be Adam because no one believes in reincarnation and also because Jesus is viewed as a God through the doctrine of Trinity. However, Jesus said in the book of Revelation:
“I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End, the First and the Last.” Revelation 22: 13
Jesus clearly said he is the first, which we can understand as the first man on earth. Jesus also confirmed he was before Abraham:
“Jesus said to them, “Most assuredly, I say to you, before Abraham was, I AM.” John 8: 58
Many people take the words “I AM” as a confirmation that Jesus was calming to be God, however this could be understood as: I was before Abraham and I’m still existing. The historical texts won’t be written in the way we can understand and translate it accurately 2 thousand years later. Jesus was always highlighting he is the Son of God:
“Then Jesus answered and said to them, “Most assuredly, I say to you, the Son can do nothing of Himself, but what He sees the Father do; for whatever He does, the Son also does in like manner. For the Father loves the Son, and shows Him all things that He Himself does; and He will show Him greater works than these, that you may marvel. For as the Father raises the dead and gives life to them, even so the Son gives life to whom He will. For the Father judges no one, but has committed all judgment to the Son, that all should honor the Son just as they honor the Father. He who does not honor the Son does not honor the Father who sent Him.” John 5: 19-23
“Then they all said, “Are You then the Son of God?” So He said to them, “You rightly say that I am.” John 22: 70
We also see that Adam was the Son of God: “the son of Adam, the son of God.” Luke 3: 38
Adam was the first creation, the first begotten Son of God that God breathed into with His own breath. Every other man was a son of the previous father. Isaac was the son of Abraham, Jacob was the son of Isaac and Joseph was the son of Jacob. Adam is directly from God, God is his father and therefore he is the Son of God.
We also see Jesus confirming three stages of his being in the book of Revelations:
“I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End,” says the Lord, “who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty.”
Who is, who was and who is to come – meaning he was the first one, he is existing at the time of speaking and he is the one to come. His spirit inhabited the body of Adam and the body of Jesus, however these are the same person. Consider the first mistake Adam made, he blamed Eve for his mistake. Jesus came and rectified that mistake by taking all the blame on himself. Not only his blame but of all the people, so he paid for that mistake double and rectified the mistake of Adam, his first being. He is the one to come in the form of a King as “the End”.
“I am the Root and the Offspring of David, the Bright and Morning Star.” Revelation 22:16
Here Jesus highlights he is the root, the one that started it all but he is also the offspring, meaning he came after David. This confirms his double nature of starting as a root and being an offspring, his reincarnation. He was born again as Jesus.
Similarly to Adam, Eve was the first and will be the last. Eve is the Bride of Christ, the mother of all life, the woman from the book of Revelation:
“And the dragon was enraged with the woman, and he went to make war with the rest of her offspring, who keep the commandments of God and have the testimony of Jesus Christ.” Revelation 12: 17
How come that woman has an offspring of people who keep the commandments? Who would be her offspring? All people who keep the commandments as she is the mother of all. That is why the dragon was after the woman, because she in the mother:
“So the great dragon was cast out, that serpent of old, called the Devil and Satan, who deceives the whole world; he was cast to the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.” Revelation 12:9
The dragon or the serpent who deceived Eve in the garden was also after her in her new body as a woman living during the time of Apocalypse. He deceived her once, so he wanted to deceive her again.
“And for your transgressions your mother has been put away.” Isaiah 50:1
Your mother, meaning the mother of all being, the mother of all people.
“The children you will have,
After you have lost the others,
Will say again in your ears,
‘The place is too small for me;
Give me a place where I may dwell.’
Then you will say in your heart,
‘Who has begotten these for me,
Since I have lost my children and am desolate,
A captive, and wandering to and fro?
And who has brought these up?
There I was, left alone;
But these, where were they?’ ” Isiah 49: 20-21
God is comforting her that even though she lost a lot of children, she will have more offspring and “the place will be too small for them”.
Eve was created as a helper to Adam: “And the Lord God said, “It is not good that man should be alone; I will make him a helper comparable to him.” Genesis 2:18
“But when the Helper comes, whom I shall send to you from the Father, the Spirit of truth who proceeds from the Father, He will testify of Me. And you also will bear witness, because you have been with Me from the beginning.” John 15:26
The spirit of Eve is the Holy Spirit, the helper who was with Jesus or Adam from the beginning. It’s only because the gender was changed to “he” people mistakenly think Holy Spirit is a “he”, but in actuality it’s the spirit of Eve, the mother of all.
“But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you.” John 14:26
Jesus confirms that the Helper will come to remind of the teaching of Jesus, and what Jesus was teaching about was found in Torah. The Helper will remind about those things and come at the end because after all this time, people have received all those deceptive teachings and stories that naturally they will forget the basics. The Helper will bring things back to the basics.
Eve and the Holy Spirit is also the Wisdom from Proverbs 8. Notice one of the desires of Eve that tempted her to eat the fruit was “to make one wise”. She is actuality is the spirit of Wisdom:
“Now therefore, listen to me, my children,
For blessed are those who keep my ways.
Hear instruction and be wise,
And do not disdain it.
Blessed is the man who listens to me,
Watching daily at my gates,
Waiting at the posts of my doors.
For whoever finds me finds life,
And obtains favor from the Lord;” Proverbs 8: 32-35
The spirit of Eve is living on earth in a woman who will be the Bride of Christ. They are the first and the last. They started this journey, through Eve all life came through and the seed of Adam has been spread on earth to create the Kingdom of God. Through hardship, lessons and experiences, everyone has been learning and raising the consciousness of humanity so that we can all end it with the ones that started it. Only through those experiences we can really appreciate the Kingdom. And how much we will appreciate that Kingdom after all the work we have been putting in. “It ends with Us” – said Adam & Eve. It has to end with them…
