The Truth and a Lie

“It could be so simple” – said the truth
If they just looked closely,
Stopped and reconsider,
Paused and faced the lie.

But you look for sensation,
Is truth not enough?
You are drawn to illusion,
To the magic of the lie…

Don’t you know it will pass?
Don’t you know lie will last?
Loud and proud standing on the top
Repainting the truth and stealing her light.

Truth entered the room,
Yet somehow no one looked.
They turned her into a lie
Conspiracy, legend, a story with no light.

So she sat on her own,
While the lie took her crown.
The one that stole her light,
The one that took her gown.

Maybe they will notice me?
Maybe they will see?
Maybe someone will point out,
And put the crown back on me?

Don’t you like simplicity?
Don’t you like the light?
Is lie more fascinating?
That you chase false light?

The lie – strong and proud
Together with illusion, they go around.
Jokes and stories, possibilities
All on their account.

“But it’s fascinating” – said chaos
“But it’s entertaining” – added sensation
Why to have the truth,
And live boring life?

So the truth stood and left.
Can she still be found?
And brought back to life,
From the dust of the ground?

Buried by the people,
Who prefer the lie,
Who don’t see past illusions,
Blinded by the crime.

And they called on truth,
But she can’t be found.
So the time must past,
Till you learn her light.

And the time will come,
When her light will shine,
With her beautiful gown,
Putting on her crown.
