How the doctrine of Trinity stole the real worship of God

Trinity1

I am aware I am stepping on the controversial topic here…the Trinity.

The Trinity is the basis of Christian faith, some say it’s the cornerstone of our faith, it’s what distinguishes us from Judaism and Islam, therefore it is important for every Christian. However, do you believe in Trinity because you have already been taught about it before you red your Bible, thus forming your believe before you coming to that conclusion yourself?

If I gave you a book to read, however before that I would give you a quick summary and expressed my opinion that book is good, you while reading it would not be able to remove my opinion from your head and this would form your opinion whether you know it or not. It’s how our brain works. If however I gave you the book and said nothing and after you red it, we would have conversation if you liked it or not, this would be your true opinion not based on any previous opinions.

I have been questioning the whole foundation of modern Christianity, removing all basis of it all, unlearning and trying to see if I really understand it in the same way as I have been taught and indoctrinated before I red the Bible for myself. I mentioned before that it is important to question everything and not just accept it at the face value and just because we have been taught something by centuries. We have been put thoughts and ideas to our heads first and then based on that asked to read the Bible. Some churches in modern Christianity even skip the Old Testament and only focus on the New Testament, because they see it as an old covenant that is no longer valid. By doing this, you are removing yourself for the basic understanding of covenants, sacrifice and why Jesus had to be sacrificed in the first place.

And what is New Testament? New Testament is the second division of the biblical canon, which consist of 27 books that are: Gospel of Jesus Christ and letters about the teachings of Jesus, which essentially is a commentary of the teachings found in the Old Testament. When Jesus was on earth, there was no New Testament and Jesus was teaching out of Torah and quoting Old Testament. Therefore we can say that the Old Testament is still valid, useful for teachings and we also know that God does not change:

“I am the Lord, and I do not change” Malachi 3:6

During my uncovering of various truths and lies, I decided to treat the Bible as a completely new book and to not be influenced by the doctrines I have previously learnt at school/church. I asked myself this question – How do I understand the topic of Trinity?

To be perfectly honest, the doctrine of Trinity has caused me a lot of confusion. I was trying to fit my understanding into already established believe that God has three forms and they are all one. However, this meant I was confused sometimes who do I pray to and who do I worship? God? Jesus? Both? And what about the Holy Spirit? Does it matter? It does actually matter a lot. I heard also one Jew who said that Christians have created an idol out of Jesus and we don’t worship God the Father at all. I pondered… could this be true? Catholic church worships Mary and other Saints where they were normal people just like us, the only difference was they were tools that God used to reveal His work and power. I reject worship of Mary and other Saints but I never questioned the worship of Jesus, because of the Trinity.

The truth is modern Christianity only worships Jesus, when you go to the church you only hear songs to Jesus, songs about Jesus and about his sacrifice, not God, however even Jesus himself said :

“For it is written, ‘You shall worship the Lord your God, and Him only you shall serve.’ ” Matthew 4: 10

We all know there is one God who needs to be worshiped and God is not the author of confusion. How come this topic is so confusing to many? If the Trinity is one God in three, why don’t we worship Holy Spirit in the same way as Jesus? And why do we forget about God but turn all the glory to Jesus?

The Trinity was officially introduced into Christianity at the Council of Nicea in 325 AD. The Council was called by Roman Emperor Constantine to resolve disputes among church leaders. The early Christianity did not worship the Trinity and up until 325 AD, thus around three centuries after Jesus’ death and resurrection, we didn’t see the Trinity being mentioned at all. There is also proven evidence that the verse which clearly proves the existance of the Trinity was added centuries after. That verse was not present in the original texts:

“For there are three that bear witness in heaven: the Father, the Word, and the Holy Spirit; and these three are one.” 1 John 5:7

That verse came in 1525 for the purpose to convince sceptics who were saying the Trinity was not present in the Bible. Some say just because the word “trinity” was not there, however many argue that the idea of the Trinity was always present. I agree with the fact that just because some words are not in the Bible, it doesn’t mean that they are not true or the idea of it is not true, however it is important to see how this idea of Trinity has been introduced to us. We can’s argue with the facts which are: the Trinity was introduced three centuries after Jesus’ death and resurrection by Roman Catholic church at the Council on Nicea, and we know that Catholic church is a false church based on pagan gods, and the sceptics of the Trinity were reassured that there is one verse that proves the Trinity, which was actually added in 1525. With that you have to question the reasons behind, who wanted to confuse people? Who wanted to take away the worship of God and split it in three?

In the Old Testament we only see the worship of the one Most High God, Yahweh, the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. We see many prophets rising and being the “mouth piece” of God and messengers of God’s coming judgement. There was no confusion, no discussion on this and it was very clear that there was only one God.

Then in around 5 BC. the prophecy of Isaiah comes to life and Jesus, the prophesied Messiah is born. Jeshua is the prophesied Servant of God and the Son of God. During Jesus’ ministry that he started when he was around 30 years old, he was describing himself as the Son of God and Christ.

For those that don’t know, Christ is a title that comes from a Greek word Christos that means God’s Anointed One and it’s equivalent to the Hebrew word Messiah. “Christ” is His title, signifying Jesus was sent from God to be a King and Deliverer. “Jesus Christ” means “Jesus the Messiah” or “Jesus the Anointed One.”

“Know therefore and understand,
That from the going forth of the command
To restore and build Jerusalem
Until Messiah the Prince” Daniel 9:25

“Behold! My Servant whom I uphold,
My Elect One in whom My soul delights!
I have put My Spirit upon Him;
He will bring forth justice to the Gentiles.” Isiah 42:1

“Behold, a king will reign in righteousness,
And princes will rule with justice.” Isaiah 32:1

The title “Christ” means God’s Anointed One, the One who fulfills the Old Testament prophecies, the Chosen Savior who came to rescue sinners and the King of kings who is coming back again to set up His Kingdom on earth:

“And the Lord shall be King over all the earth.” Zechariah 14:9

“Then the seventh angel sounded: And there were loud voices in heaven, saying, “The kingdoms of this world have become the kingdoms of our Lord and of His Christ, and He shall reign forever and ever!” Revelation 11:15

Now, let’s look at the different titles used in the Bible translations. It can be very confusing to understand how the different titles used for God are used in the Bible. Part of the problem is that different Bible translations use the terms somewhat differently. The primary reason for the use of LORD in place of God’s Hebrew name is to follow the tradition of the Israelites in not pronouncing or spelling out God’s name. So, when God’s Hebrew name “YHWH” is used in the Old Testament, English translations usually use “LORD” in all caps or small caps. When “Lord” occurs in the Old Testament, referring to God, it is usually a rendering of “Adonai” , a name/title of God that emphasizes His lordship. LORD/YHWH and Lord/Adonai are by far the two most consistent renderings throughout all the different English Bible translations. The Old Testament uses many different names and titles to refer to God, to emphasize certain aspects of His person and attributes. This can result in confusion in translation, but in the original Hebrew, it was done entirely in an effort to glorify and magnify God’s name.

New Testament was written in Greek language and therefore the translations are slightly different. The usage of “Lord” and “God” in the New Testament is universally used of the translation “theos” – God, the general Greek word for deity. Also almost universally, “Lord” is a translation of “kurios,” the general Greek word for a master. The key point in all of this is that whether we use His actual Hebrew name, or refer to Him as God, or Lord, or Lord God, we are to always show reverence to Him and His name. (reference https://www.gotquestions.org/LORD-GOD-Lord-God.html)

Therefore we know that the titles Lord, God, Adonai are referring to the Most High God who we should worship.

When it comes to Christ, we see that he is prophesied to come and therefore introduced to us in the Old Testament. Let’s look where in the Old Testament we see the Anointed One.

“So I said, “I am looking, and there is a lampstand of solid gold with a bowl on top of it, and on the stand seven lamps with seven pipes to the seven lamps. Two olive trees are by it, one at the right of the bowl and the other at its left.” So I answered and spoke to the angel who talked with me, saying, “What are these, my lord?” Zechariah 4:2-4

“Then I answered and said to him, “What are these two olive trees—at the right of the lampstand and at its left?” And I further answered and said to him, “What are these two olive branches that drip into the receptacles of the two gold pipes from which the golden oil drains?”

Then he answered me and said, “Do you not know what these are?”

And I said, “No, my lord.”

So he said, “These are the two anointed ones, who stand beside the Lord of the whole earth.” Zechariah 4: 11-14

“These are the two olive trees and the two lampstands standing before the God of the earth. And if anyone wants to harm them, fire proceeds from their mouth and devours their enemies. And if anyone wants to harm them, he must be killed in this manner.” Revelation 11: 4-5

Therefore we see that there are two olive trees that stand by the Most High God that are two anointed ones and from those olive trees branches are coming of, which are the tribes of Israel and also a grafted in branch – the Gentiles.

“Behold, the days are coming,” says the Lord,
“That I will raise to David a Branch of righteousness;
A King shall reign and prosper,
And execute judgment and righteousness in the earth.
In His days Judah will be saved,
And Israel will dwell safely;
Now this is His name by which He will be called:

THE LORD OUR RIGHTEOUSNESS.” Jeremiah 23: 5-6

A very clear verse from the book of Isaiah that many people take as a proof of Jesus and God being one:

“For unto us a Child is born,
Unto us a Son is given;
And the government will be upon His shoulder.
And His name will be called
Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God,
Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
Of the increase of His government and peace
There will be no end,
Upon the throne of David and over His kingdom,
To order it and establish it with judgment and justice
From that time forward, even forever.
The zeal of the Lord of hosts will perform this.” Isiah 9:6-7

This however is completed in half. We’ve had a Son being born, but the government hasn’t been on His shoulder yet, this is still to come in the 1000 year reign of Christ. When Jesus will be on earth as a King, then He will be to us as a Father, as a Mighty God, but not yet. For now He is the Son of God and we have only one Heavenly Father.

In the book of Isiah, we see Jesus as the righteous Servant:

“By His knowledge My righteous Servant shall justify many,
For He shall bear their iniquities.” Isiah 53: 11

The Old Testament is clear on the identity of Christ being- the Anointed One, one of the Olive Trees standing beside God, the King over the whole earth, the Lord of righteousness, the righteous Servant, The Son of God. Another title that can be confusing is Lord – Jesus was called the Lord before appearing in the New Testament. This will also be his title in the new earth reign as a King. It is also clear that he stands “beside the Lord of the whole earth”, therefore beside God the Father.

Now we have established in the Old Testament, let’s have a look at the New Testament. Where does the word “Lord” refers to in the New Testament?

“And He said to them, “The Son of Man is also Lord of the Sabbath.”” Luke 6:5

Jesus is explaining to his disciples he is also Lord of the Sabbath, giving us a hint to his future reign as a King in the Sabbath time and the rest established for the 7th day and 1000 year reign.

“You call Me Teacher and Lord, and you say well, for so I am. If I then, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also ought to wash one another’s feet. For I have given you an example, that you should do as I have done to you. Most assuredly, I say to you, a servant is not greater than his master; nor is he who is sent greater than he who sent him. If you know these things, blessed are you if you do them.” John 13: 13-17

Here Jesus highlights that he is not greater than the one who sent him – Heavenly Father. He reminds us that he is a servant from the book of Isiah. We also see that Jesus tells us there in only one Father:

“Do not call anyone on earth your father; for One is your Father, He who is in heaven. And do not be called teachers; for One is your Teacher, the Christ.” Matthew 23: 9-10

Why then we hear many people at the churches calling Jesus their Father? Can you see the confusion? People confuse Father and Son and call Son the Father, leaving the Father out and not giving Him the proper worship He deserves.

“Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven. Many will say to Me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?’ And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!’” Matthew 7: 21-23

Here Jesus highlights that even though many people prayed in the name of Jesus, delivered people out of demons in the name of Jesus, healed in the name of Jesus, but forgot about the Father and the Law, will not enter the kingdom of heaven. It’s a warning from Jesus to not put him above the Father and we have to adhere to the Law!

On many occasions Jesus referred to Himself as a Son of Man:

“For the Son of Man has come to save that which was lost.” Matthew 18:11

Let’s examine the verse many take as Jesus calling himself God:

“Then the Jews surrounded Him and said to Him, “How long do You keep us in doubt? If You are the Christ, tell us plainly.”

Jesus answered them, “I told you, and you do not believe. The works that I do in My Father’s name, they bear witness of Me. But you do not believe, because you are not of My sheep, as I said to you. My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me. And I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; neither shall anyone snatch them out of My hand. My Father, who has given them to Me, is greater than all; and no one is able to snatch them out of My Father’s hand. I and My Father are one.” John 10: 24-30

Many take the verse “I and My Father are one” and take it as this means this is God the Father in the human form. However, Jesus later explains:

“Do you say of Him whom the Father sanctified and sent into the world, ‘You are blaspheming,’ because I said, ‘I am the Son of God’? If I do not do the works of My Father, do not believe Me; but if I do, though you do not believe Me, believe the works, that you may know and believe that the Father is in Me, and I in Him.” Therefore they sought again to seize Him, but He escaped out of their hand.” John 10: 36-39

Again, the argument here is because they wanted to stone Jesus as in their eyes he was exalting himself as God, this means that he is God. However, Jesus said he is the Son of God, not God himself. He also said “the Father is in Me, and I in Him”, which again is interpreted as Jesus calling himself God the Father. However we know God is a Spirit, by saying the Father is in me Jesus was saying that the Spirit of God was in Him. They are both connected by Spirit but there is no more information given, therefore we can only speculate what this could mean. We can’t know everything about the heavens and spiritual aspects. We can only understand this as Jesus said with his words that he is – Son of God. As I demonstrated above, in the Old Testament Jesus is presented as the Anointed One and one of the olive trees standing next to the Father. This does not mean it’s the same God as the Father and that it’s God the Father in a human form of the Son. With this thinking we go into a philosophical approach and assigning to it more meaning than there is. I am not saying Jesus is normal human being or just a prophet or saying he is just like Moses, but I am also not assigning Jesus to be the One God, our Heavenly Father which the idea of Trinity is asking me to do.

What I also battelled with is this verse:

“When He had been baptized, Jesus came up immediately from the water; and behold, the heavens were opened to Him, and He saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and alighting upon Him. And suddenly a voice came from heaven, saying, “This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.” Matthew 3: 16-17

If Jesus was God, would he anoint himself with…himself? And also would God say He is pleased with himself? It is clear how separate this all is. Jesus had to be baptized to receive the Holy Spirit and God confirmed He is pleased with His Son. All separate.

If we take the idea of Jesus being one the Father and the Holy Spirit, where in the Bible we are asked to worship the Holy Spirit in the same way? If the Holy Spirit is God, then he should be worshiped in the same way.

“But when the Helper comes, whom I shall send to you from the Father, the Spirit of truth who proceeds from the Father, He will testify of Me.” John 15: 26

“But now I go away to Him who sent Me, and none of you asks Me, ‘Where are You going?’ But because I have said these things to you, sorrow has filled your heart. Nevertheless I tell you the truth. It is to your advantage that I go away; for if I do not go away, the Helper will not come to you; but if I depart, I will send Him to you. And when He has come, He will convict the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment: of sin, because they do not believe in Me;  of righteousness, because I go to My Father and you see Me no more; of judgment, because the ruler of this world is judged.” John 16: 5-11

“However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come. He will glorify Me, for He will take of what is Mine and declare it to you. All things that the Father has are Mine. Therefore I said that He will take of Mine and declare it to you.” John 16: 13-15

And this is where people connect the dots and take the Father, the Son and the Spirit as one. The Spirit of truth and the Helper, otherwise known as the Holy Spirit, will take of what is of Jesus and what is of Jesus is also of the Father. But if you forget the idea of the Trinity and just think critically, does that mean they are all the same? It means they share the same things but not that they are the same person. The Spirit is guided by the Father, will glorify Jesus and take those things that belong to the Father and to Jesus back to them. What are those things?

Well we know that God is the creator of the earth but the earth has been hijacked by Satan. Currently Satan is the ruler of this world and therefore the world, wordily systems including politics, economy and majority of people belongs to Satan. God as a good Father He is, has given His creation and all that there is to His Son – Jesus Christ. Therefore Jesus will inherit the earth and all that there is, but the earth is currently hijacked. So here comes the Spirit of truth, the Helper and he declares: wait a second! this does not belong to you Satan but to the King, Jesus Christ, the Son of God. Get out of your throne and go where you belong – to the pit!

And this is how the Helper will help. The Helper will be working through people and awakening people to the truth, the truth that has been tainted, mixed with lies, being over complicated by philosophical approaches and people who were working through their egos and their need to be intellectual, important and smart. This is back to the basics and back to simplicity of it all!

“Then comes the end, when He delivers the kingdom to God the Father, when He puts an end to all rule and all authority and power. For He must reign till He has put all enemies under His feet. The last enemy that will be destroyed is death. For “He has put all things under His feet.” But when He says “all things are put under Him,” it is evident that He who put all things under Him is excepted. Now when all things are made subject to Him, then the Son Himself will also be subject to Him who put all things under Him, that God may be all in all.” 1 Corinthians 15: 24-28

This is what will happen at the end of the 1000 year reign of Christ. After that, Jesus will put the inheritance back to God, to the Heavenly Father. Jesus will destroy all the enemies of God and will put them back under the feet of God and then Jesus will be subject to God and under God so that all can go back to God.

The idea of Trinity over complicated existence of God and His heavenly family. God has a family that is why He wants us to copy His ways by also having a family and children. And we all know once we have children they look like us, behave like us, sometimes they are splitting image of us. By rejecting the Trinity, does that mean I reject Jesus? Of course not! Does that mean I assign Jesus normal being just like Moses? Of course not! I am saying I see Jesus as what he was saying he is – a Son of God, the future King and the Messiah, the Anointed One and one of the olive trees, not the God the Father. Was Jesus with the Father from the beginning? Yes he was and I am not taking the eternal existence of Jesus away or his divinity! I am just separating Father and Son into separate beings. I worship the Father as we have been told ‘You shall worship the Lord your God, and Him only you shall serve.’ Why do we have to make it into one just because of one verse? And by doing this, confusing the worship of the Most High God and breaking the first and second commandment?

I understand this is very important topic and people are afraid to even question this because we have been told by the Catholic Church and the Council of Nicea that if we reject their idea of thinking, we will not see the Kingdom of Heaven. It’s their thinking, their ideas and their believes we should believe and the Bible is clear:

‘This people honors Me with their lips,
But their heart is far from Me.
And in vain they worship Me,
Teaching as doctrines the commandments of men.’” Mark 7: 6-7

The concept of Trinity is the concept of men and the fear of rejection of the Trinity is the commandment of men. By rejecting the Trinity you are not taking away the importance of Jesus but you are just separating Jesus and the Father as two separate beings. And remember, we worship God the Father only and give glory to Jesus for his sacrifice and redemption.
